Whether you like a stroll along the seashore, a yomp accross the New Forest heathland, a woodland wander or a bracing ramble on Hampshire's high chalk uplands, "The South Downs" , Hampshire walks have it all.

There are literally hundreds of miles of rights of way to explore, some well marked and well walked, others more obscure and remote. On the following pages, I will give you just a flavour of some of them, which I hope will encourage you to get yourself an O.S. map and have fun. If you are on your holidays, why not enjoy the walks (and pubs!) the locals enjoy.

The Itchen Navigation Winchester

The walks are all circular, and vary in length, to suit all ages and abilities. There are directions from the nearest city or town, to an area close to the start of the walk, where I have managed to park my car. If you are unable to park in the area I suggest, please park with consideration, for local residents.
